Surgo Health and CARE Partner on AI Initiative to Enhance Community Health in the Philippines
Surgo Health and CARE Launch AI-Powered Initiative
In a groundbreaking effort to improve healthcare delivery in the Philippines, Surgo Health and CARE have partnered to pilot an advanced AI-enabled system that prioritizes the voices and insights of frontline health workers. This initiative aims to decentralize healthcare feedback and make it more actionable, thereby directly benefiting community health.
The Role of Frontline Health Workers
Frontline health workers serve as critical pillars within the healthcare systems of low- and middle-income countries. In the Philippines, they connect communities to formal health services, providing essential care and promoting healthy practices, particularly in underserved areas. However, their day-to-day experiences and challenges often go unrecognized, limiting the effectiveness of health programs.
Recognizing this gap, the new partnership will introduce a Frontline Health Worker Intelligence System, which utilizes real-time feedback to gather insights and challenges faced by Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) continuously. Unlike traditional methods, which rely on infrequent and cumbersome focus groups, this innovative approach leverages digital channels to ensure that health workers' experiences translate directly into actionable feedback.
Innovative Technology at Work
Powered by Derin™, Surgo Health’s generative AI platform, the system will deploy multilingual, AI-assisted chat and voice interfaces. This technology will be instrumental in collecting lived experience data, transforming everyday insights into valuable intelligence that can enhance the whole healthcare system.
