Orange Jordan and SoftAtHome Launch the World's First prpl-Based Broadband Solution

Orange Jordan and SoftAtHome Team Up for Groundbreaking Broadband Solution

In a groundbreaking announcement, Orange Jordan is poised to introduce the first-ever broadband solution in the world fully based on prpl Foundation products, in collaboration with SoftAtHome. This innovative solution includes a home gateway and a Wi-Fi repeater driven by prplWare, a software platform that features prplOS and prplMesh.

The Significance of the prpl-Based Solutions

The prpl solutions are designed to extend the lifecycle of Orange devices while enabling operators to break free from hardware constraints, thus facilitating the introduction of new and innovative services. SoftAtHome has leveraged five critical advantages advocated by the prpl Foundation. These advantages focus on improving speed through simplified integration of the Gateway stack across multiple platforms, concentrating on service-driven innovation, harmonizing APIs via collaboration, utilizing open-source resources for better testing, and fostering a thriving community culture.

Product Features and Enhancements

The new gateway from Orange Jordan not only provides fiber optic connectivity but also incorporates the benefits of Wi-Fi 6E technology. Additionally, prplWare has been enhanced with several vital features for the operator, such as VoIP capabilities, a Wi-Fi repeater, and API migration while maintaining compatibility with existing infrastructure. prplMesh already offers Wi-Fi management and hardware abstraction capabilities, and SoftAtHome has integrated intelligent Wi-Fi algorithms, including Wi-Fi repeater management, packet prioritization, smart channel selection, remote device management, and enhanced security features with the Wi-Fi'ON product running on top of prplWare.

Commitment to Future Services

Regarding this collaboration, Orange Jordan expressed its commitment to innovating future broadband services. “At the onset of this project, we were in search of a software solution that would leverage our installed device base while paving the way for an exciting future of services for our broadband users. SoftAtHome exceeded our expectations with this advanced solution based on prpl Foundation products and their extensive expertise,” said an Orange Jordan representative.

The Orange Group acknowledged, “Orange Jordan is the first unit within the Orange group to deploy a home gateway solution based on prpl products, which reflects our commitment to investing in open-source prpl solutions. The entire operator community will benefit from access to new services based on domestic gateways.”

SoftAtHome’s Role and Expertise

Arnaud Bellivier de Prin, CEO of SoftAtHome, stated, “I am proud that our teams delivered the world’s first prpl-based solution, deployed simultaneously on the home gateway and Wi-Fi repeaters. I’m grateful to Orange Jordan for their ongoing trust in SoftAtHome and for paving the way for prpl within our operator club.”
