With a distinguished career that includes 16 years as the Chief Scientific Officer and President of Pfizer R&D, Dolsten brings a wealth of experience in pharmaceutical research and development to Varda. His tenure at Pfizer was marked by overseeing the approval of over 36 medicines and vaccines, in addition to advancing more than 150 drug candidates into clinical studies.
Dolsten’s appointment comes at a crucial time as Varda seeks to produce the first pharmaceutical created in space, intended for patients on Earth. During his career, Dolsten has established himself as a leader in translating cutting-edge scientific discoveries into effective therapeutic products. With ten more launches and reentries planned through 2027, Varda's W-series vehicles are designed to reach speeds of Mach 25 when returning from orbit. This capability not only positions Varda as a leader in orbital pharmaceutical production but also provides a reliable and cost-effective method for transporting materials and data back to Earth.
