HandMade In Japan Fes' Makes Its Debut in Osaka with a Festive Twist

HandMade In Japan Fes' Comes to Osaka

The renowned HandMade In Japan Fes' (HMJ) is making its debut in Osaka, presented by Creema, Japan's largest handmade marketplace. On December 12-13, 2026, the event will unfold at Intex Osaka in Suminoe-ku, inviting creators and enthusiasts alike to celebrate the spirit of handmade artistry.

A Celebration of Creativity

Since its inception in 2013 at Tokyo Big Sight, HMJ has grown into a national event held twice a year. Each year, it brings together thousands of creators from across Japan to showcase their original works. With the number of attendees surging post-COVID, the Osaka edition promises to be an exciting chapter in HMJ's journey of expansion, allowing an even wider audience to engage with the diverse world of handmade crafts.

At this year’s Osaka festival, over 1,700 creators will set up individual booths, presenting a rich assortment of handmade goods. Attendees can expect to find fashion items such as jewelry and bags, as well as furniture, kitchenware, art, and various handicrafts displayed for sale. In addition to the marketplace, there will be a range of experiential workshops where participants can engage directly with traditional artisans and popular creators, further enhancing the hands-on experience that HMJ offers.

Special Festive Editions

To enhance the holiday spirit, the event will feature a Christmas Special Edition at the entrance. It will showcase exclusive holiday creations made by participating artisans, perfect for seasonal gifts. Visitors can browse an assortment of items such as wreaths and ornaments, ideal for wrapping up thoughtful gifts for loved ones.

Moreover, many creators will offer custom order and gift-wrapping services to help attendees craft a truly unique gift. This hands-on approach allows for personalized touches, ensuring that every purchase becomes a special sentiment. Items that celebrate both Christmas and the New Year will also be available, such as decorative new year’s wreaths made from glass and wood.

Embracing Japanese Craft Culture

Japan is home to an abundance of skilled creators, and HMJ aims to provide a platform for showcasing their exceptional talent and craftsmanship. The festival not only highlights the versatility and creativity of Japanese artisans but also fosters a deeper appreciation for handmade culture.

With creative booths offering accessories, fashion items, food, live music, and even live painting sessions, there is no shortage of stimulating content to engage the senses and inspire creativity. Each day promises a distinctive culmination of artistic expression, providing attendees with a truly immersive experience.
