Digiloong GAIC Launch: A New Era in Game Development



On April 2, 2025, Century Huatong officially kicked off the Digiloong Cup Global AI Game and Application Innovation Competition (Digiloong GAIC). This ambitious event aims to merge the excitement of game development with groundbreaking AI technologies, creating a platform where creativity meets innovation.

Scheduled to run until June 18, 2025, the competition invites developers from around the world to submit their AI-enhanced gaming applications. Coordinated with the support of notable associations like the Games Publishing Committee of the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association (CADPA), the event promises to bring together experts and enthusiasts from various sectors of the gaming industry. Participants can log their entries through the recently launched official website.

The Digiloong GAIC is structured into five distinct phases:
1. Registration and Entry Submission: Open from April 2 to June 18, 2025.
2. Preliminary Selection: Occurring from June 19 to July 1, entries will be evaluated, and qualified projects will proceed.
3. Semi-Finalist Selection: From July 2 to mid-July, a panel of industry experts will score and shortlist projects.
4. On-site Finalist Evaluation: Scheduled for late July, featuring direct interactions between finalists and judges.
5. Grand Finale and Awards Ceremony: A showcase at the 2025 ChinaJoy AIGC conference on August 1, where winners will be revealed.

The competition aims to drive advancements in AI technology, encouraging deep integration of AI within game development and extending its applications across various industries. This is an era where innovative ideas can shape the future of interactive entertainment, making the competition highly relevant to current industry trends.

A cross-disciplinary jury composed of notable figures includes Tang Jiajun, Deputy Secretary General of CADPA, and experts from leading organizations such as Century Huatong, The Paper, and prominent venture capital firms. They will evaluate entries based on criteria including technical innovation, commercial viability, and feasibility.

With a total prize pool of 600,000 yuan, the competition highlights excellence across six categories ranging from game innovation to visual expression and music presentation. The ongoing themed salons, online Q&A sessions, and collaborative events throughout the competition period are designed to foster networking among developers, businesses, and investors, paving the way for the fully-fledged adoption of AI in gaming.
