Kato Works Hosts Special Factory Tour for Kids in Ibaraki

On August 26, 2025, Kato Works, under the leadership of President Kiyoshi Kato, organized a unique factory tour for local elementary school students at its Ibaraki plant in Goka Town. This initiative is part of the company's ongoing commitment to community engagement and sustainability, aiming to foster learning opportunities for the younger generation.

Collaborating with the Goka Town Board of Education and the local revitalization group, Gokamirai Lab, Kato Works has made this factory tour an annual summer event since 2023. This year, the program catered to 16 enthusiastic students from grades 1 through 6. The children were given an in-depth look at the manufacturing processes of cranes and large equipment, which included a hands-on experience by sitting in the operator's seat and trying their hand at the control levers.

In an interactive session led by the company's manufacturing personnel, the children had the chance to ask questions such as "What are those steel plates used for?", "How high can you lift a load?", and "How many days do you work in a week?" Their eager inquiries highlighted the vibrant curiosity and interest in technology and engineering.
