The 2025 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has proven to be a monumental event, breaking attendance records with an astonishing total of 339,000 fans throughout the race week. This year, the grand finale on Yas Island was particularly electrifying, featuring a fierce title battle between McLaren's Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen, which drew an incredible 203,000 spectators to the Yas Marina Circuit, a nearly 6% increase from last year.
Beyond the thrill of the race itself, which saw Verstappen claim victory and Norris earn his first championship title, the event boasted an impressive lineup of entertainment. The Yasalam festival, presented by Emirates NBD, attracted a total of 136,000 music fans over four exhilarating nights. Concerts featured artists such as Benson Boone, Elyanna, Post Malone, Metallica, and Katy Perry, culminating in official after-parties headlined by popular DJs like Idris Elba, Calvin Harris, and Keinemusik.
Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, expressed pride in the event, stating, "This year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be remembered for decades, highlighting the intense Formula 1 championship battle under the spotlight of Yas Marina. We are thrilled to have hosted the highest number of fans ever, thanks to our top-tier entertainment and innovative fan experience."
Among the enhancements for this year were expanded access to the track, including public walks through the pit lanes and a public track walk on Thursday, which set the stage for an unprecedented lead-up to the race. The also enjoyed a standout musical performance by singer Benson Boone, turning Thursday into a record-breaking concert night for the event.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix continues to solidify its reputation as one of the most glamorous events on the F1 calendar. High-profile attendees included Hollywood star Ana de Armas, Jason Statham, and Emily Ratajkowski, as well as celebrities from the world of sports such as Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, and tennis star Jannik Sinner.
In addition to its record attendance, Ethara is committed to addressing environmental impacts. The 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix proudly tripled its use of temporary solar energy, powering key areas of the track—particularly turns 2, 5, and 9—with clean energy. All temporary generators operated on 100% biofuel blends (B5 and B20), significantly reducing emissions associated with the event.
Notably, the collaboration with Ma-Hawa, a UAE-based company, showcased innovation in sustainability by producing over 260,000 liters of water through air-to-water technology, which eliminated the need for over 520,000 plastic water bottles during the weekend.
With a perfect culmination of exhilarating racing and continuous entertainment on Yas Island, the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix stands out as the most remarkable yet, crowning the historic 75th season of Formula 1 racing.
