The Game Creators Guild and Tokyu Corporation have announced the launch of a creative contest titled 'What to Do in FORTNITE SHIBUYA?'. This socially conscious game idea contest is set to begin from December 8, allowing everyone an opportunity to propose innovative activities that could take place in a reimagined digital version of Shibuya.

Participants have a chance to win cash prizes totaling 200,000 yen, rewarding the best and brightest ideas.

What is FORNTNITE SHIBUYA?

In creating the contest, Tokyu Corporation developed the original map 'SHIBUYA TAG - Shibuya Tag Game' inside Fortnite, which was unveiled during the Sushitech Tokyo 2025, one of Asia's largest startup conferences held in May 2025. By continuously updating the map, the project aims to bridge the gap between real and virtual experiences.

Contest Overview

The foundation of the contest revolves around the question: 'What kind of play would be fun in Shibuya?' By using the SHIBUYA TAG map, participants are encouraged to think creatively and propose game ideas that embody the unique characteristics of the city. This initiative not only seeks to ignite imagination but also encourages a dialogue about Shibuya's future through the lens of gaming.

Proposals can include anything from thrilling hide-and-seek games at the scramble crossing to parkour races across rooftops or adventure quests alongside Hachiko, all set within the expansive world of Shibuya. Participants of all ages, skills, and backgrounds are welcome; entry can be as simple as a one-slide presentation.

How to Participate

To join the contest, participants must submit:

- Google Slides with a maximum of 5 pages
- A title for their idea
- Name of the participant (can be a nickname)

Optional materials can include illustrations, diagrams, or even a prototype created in Fortnite.

Contest Timeline
