HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2025 Kick Off

The annual HUAWEI XMAGE Awards have officially commenced with the launch of the HUAWEI Pura 80 smartphone. Since its inception in 2017, this competition has become a prominent global showcase for mobile photography, offering creators a platform to share their artistic expressions and reach a wider audience. With nearly five million entries from participants across 170 countries, it stands out as one of the largest and most influential mobile photography competitions in the world.

Revolutionizing Mobile Photography

HUAWEI XMAGE has transformed mobile photography through innovative features, including telephoto, macro, night mode, snapshots, portraits, vibrant colors, and videography. The recently unveiled HUAWEI Pura 80 series incorporates groundbreaking XMAGE innovations, further enhancing the photography experience for users.

This year's awards will introduce exciting new categories: "So Close, So Far," "Good Night," and "Color and Shadows," alongside established categories such as "Faces," "A Moving World," "Experimental Laboratory," "Storyboarding," and "Action." The awards process will also undergo modifications; 1,000 standout entries will be preselected by the jury, from which a special recognition of "XMAGE 100" will be awarded, together with three distinguished "Photographers of the Year."

Esteemed Jury Panel

The jury for this year's competition comprises nine distinguished judges from diverse professional backgrounds. Included are Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Liu Heung Shing, Xinhua News Agency’s Editor-in-Chief Chen Xiaobo, Central Academy of Fine Arts Professor Wang Chuan, documentary photographer Chen Jie, visual sociologist Nichole Fernandez, Paris Photo Director Florence Bourgeois, Photographer's Gallery Director Shoair Mavlian, visual arts curator Fannie Escoulen, and Huawei Health Team Strategy Director Li Changzhu.

Participation and Submission Details

The submission deadline is set for September 15, 2025, at 12 AM Beijing time (GMT+8).
