Indulge in a Fusion of Flavors at Hotel Granvia Kyoto
Hotel Granvia Kyoto is excited to announce its upcoming dessert buffet named "A Fusion of Eastern and Western Autumn Sweets,"
scheduled for select weekends and holidays in September and November 2026. Led by General Manager Kakuro Miura, this event will
be held at the 2nd-floor café restaurant, Le Temps, where guests can experience a unique culinary journey through the delightful flavors of autumn.
This special buffet combines a selection of seasonal ingredients such as muscats, pears, and pumpkins with traditional Japanese flavors like
sweet chestnuts, hojicha (roasted green tea), and black sesame. The dessert lineup is structured to offer something for everyone,
whether young or old, ensuring that all guests can appreciate these seasonal delights.
Experience a Live Cooking Station
As part of the buffet experience, guests can enjoy live cooking stations featuring freshly prepared delights. Among these is the
"Freshly Squeezed Sweet Chestnut Mont-Blanc" and
"Hojicha Crepes", both expertly made right before your eyes. This ensures that you can appreciate the aromas and textures of freshly crafted pastries.
The buffet spread will tantalize with several autumn favorites, including
Muscadet Shortcake, Apple Pie, Chestnut Tart, and
Pumpkin Crème Brûlée. Additionally, a range of sophisticated versions of Japanese sweets will be available, such as
Black Sesame Cheesecake and
Hojicha and Pear Mousse, alongside traditional treats like
Kuri Yokan (chestnut jelly),
Kuri Zenzai (sweet chestnut soup), and
Dorayaki (sweet pancakes with filling) made with fermented butter. This unique combination allows guests to savor the best of both worlds with each bite.
To kick off the culinary adventure, guests will also be welcomed with a specially crafted dessert, the
"Nagano Purple and Tanba Chestnut Modern Japanese Parfait", served to each guest above elementary school age. This dessert showcases the luxurious flavors of Nagano Purple grapes, adorned with black sugar jelly, hojicha cream, and a crunchy kinako (roasted soybean flour) crumble.
