Northleaf Capital Partners Welcomes Hideaki Kiyamori to Lead Business Development in Japan
Northleaf Capital Partners, a prominent global private markets investment firm, announced today the appointment of Hideaki Kiyamori as the new Managing Director of Business Development in Japan. This significant move is set to bolster the firm’s commitment to developing its existing operations in the Japanese market. Kiyamori will be based in Northleaf's Tokyo office, directly reporting to Jeff Pentland, Northleaf's Asia Pacific Head and Co-Founder.
Jeff Pentland expressed his enthusiasm regarding this appointment, stating, "Northleaf continues to invest in and deepen our footprint in Japan, and we are thrilled to welcome Hideaki Kiyamori to our team. His entrepreneurial spirit, profound understanding of the Japanese market, and extensive knowledge of private alternatives will prove invaluable as we work to strengthen relationships with investors in Japan. We expect Hideaki to leverage his expertise in fundraising across various asset classes, further solidifying our foundation in providing attractive solutions in the private market space to Japanese investors."
Kiyamori brings over 20 years of experience in the investment management industry, having established himself as a highly skilled sales leader for institutional investors. Prior to joining Northleaf, he served as a Director in the Private Alternatives division at AllianceBernstein, where he managed fundraising efforts focused on private equity, private credit, and infrastructure. His career began at Nippon Life Insurance, where he was involved in investment operations, before transitioning to the alternative investment divisions of both Nippon Life and MassMutual Life Insurance, focusing on the selection of private asset managers’ funds.
"I am honored to join Northleaf at such an exciting stage of growth. I look forward to further developing our strong foundation in Japan and deepening relationships with an increasingly expanding base of investors and partners across the market," said Kiyamori regarding his new role.
Since establishing its Japanese office in 2022, Northleaf has been intensifying its long-term commitment to the Asia Pacific region. Over the past three years, the firm has built a solid presence in Japan, providing services to large institutional investors and offering access to a differentiated middle-market strategy across private equity, private credit, and infrastructure.
