XTransfer Achieves EMI License from De Nederlandsche Bank, Expanding Services in Europe

XTransfer's Milestone: EMI License from De Nederlandsche Bank

On May 9, 2025, XTransfer, a leader in B2B cross-border trade payment solutions, proudly announced that it has officially acquired an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), the central bank of the Netherlands. This significant achievement marks a crucial step in XTransfer's international journey, enhancing its prospects for growth in Europe and beyond.

The DNB is acknowledged as a reliable authority in both public perception and within the financial sector, serving as a core member of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). The granting of this EMI license reflects XTransfer's commitment to compliance, security, and excellence in service capability in the global marketplace.

With the acquisition of this license, XTransfer is set to launch localized payment services in the Netherlands, aiming to provide a comprehensive payment solution tailored to local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Services will include local accounts, cross-border payments, foreign exchange, and more. Given that the Netherlands is the second-largest trading partner of China in the European Union, it occupies a critical position in global trade. The presence of Rotterdam port, a key international logistics hub in Europe, further cements this role.

XTransfer's services will enable Dutch SMEs to access faster, more efficient, and cost-effective cross-border payment solutions, thereby empowering them to expand their international presence. Furthermore, this initiative is expected to strengthen the financial ties between China and the Netherlands, facilitating bilateral trade relations.

Bill Deng, founder and CEO of XTransfer, stated, "Receiving this EMI license from DNB is a pivotal milestone in our global strategy, following our earlier authorization as a licensed payment institution by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK. With the Netherlands as our base, we plan to extend our services to all 30 countries within the European Economic Area (EEA). Our goal is to offer secure, efficient, and cost-effective cross-border payment solutions to more SMEs. Additionally, we are exploring opportunities in emerging markets by leveraging the financial connectivity of the Netherlands with regions such as Africa and the Middle East."

Since its establishment in 2017, XTransfer has maintained a regulated presence in key financial hubs globally including the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Singapore, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong, currently serving over 600,000 trading enterprises worldwide. The attainment of the EMI license in the Netherlands solidifies XTransfer's commitment towards its international ambitions and aims at expanding its global licensing network further.
