Kobe's LOGI FLAG TECH Facility Breaks Ground to Revolutionize Cold Storage Automation

LOGI FLAG TECH Kobe Yaeidai I: A New Era in Automated Cold Storage

Kobe's logistics sector is gearing up for a transformation with the recent groundbreaking of the LOGI FLAG TECH Kobe Yaeidai I facility, initiated by Kasumigaseki Capital. This investment represents a strategic effort to tackle the ongoing labor shortages in the logistics industry while improving the demanding working conditions typically associated with cold storage facilities.

Facility Features

LOGI FLAG TECH aims to modernize the way cold storage operates by integrating advanced automated racking systems, making the processes of storing and retrieving goods in cold conditions largely automated. Located just 1 km from the Fushihata IC on the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway, the facility boasts superior access to major highways and serves as a central logistics hub for the entire Kansai region. Its proximity to the Sogo Undo Koen station, only a 500-meter walk away, also addresses the growing issue of workforce attraction by offering an easily accessible work location.

Architecturally, the facility is designed as a two-story structure featuring a truck berth and handling area on the first floor (maintaining +5 degrees Celsius) and an automated cold storage area on the second floor with a height of approximately 30 meters, operating at -25 degrees Celsius. Notably, the cold storage area is constructed to minimize human entry during daily operations, enhancing safety and efficiency. With a capacity for about 15,000 pallets, the facility is poised for optimal storage operations.

In anticipation of the 2030 refrigerant regulations, the facility will employ natural refrigerants for cooling and will incorporate solar panels on the roof, enabling it to use renewable energy for its power supply. This eco-conscious initiative highlights the commitment towards building sustainable logistics solutions.
