Shanghai Electric's Commitment to Safety and Sustainability



In a significant step towards promoting clean energy and environmental protection, Shanghai Electric has recently garnered multiple certifications for its international power projects. This recognition highlights the company's commitment to safety and environmental standards in various regions, including Dubai, Oman, Bangladesh, and Malaysia. The certifications focus on photovoltaic technology, sustainable thermal power, and community-building initiatives in Pakistan.

Safety Achievements



One of the key highlights is the acknowledgement received for the exemplary Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance at the Noor Energy 1 solar project in Dubai. This ambitious 950-MW hybrid solar power facility, situated within the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, owes its success to the team that accomplished 15 million safe working hours. Their approach involved identifying safety risks, meticulously planning major tasks, and implementing robust risk control measures. Stringent safety protocols were established for subcontractors, ensuring thorough oversight.

Additionally, Shanghai Electric was awarded certification for 3 million safe working hours at the independent solar plant Manah-1 in Oman. Despite facing new challenges and tight deadlines, the team’s adherence to rigorous protocols, emergency drills, and a zero-accident record underscored their commitment to safety.

The company's 800-MW combined cycle power project, Rupsha, located in Bangladesh, also achieved certification for five million safe working hours. The safety culture prioritized by the team involved strict procedures, regular inspections, and targeted training, which facilitated constant improvements and effective risk management.
