Carbone Fine Food Welcomes Christopher Wendling as Executive Vice President of Marketing
Carbone Fine Food, recognized as America's fastest-growing pasta sauce brand, announced today the appointment of Christopher Wendling as their new Executive Vice President of Marketing. This strategic move comes as the brand aims to solidify its presence within the premium segment of the pasta sauce market.
Wendling's appointment marks a significant milestone in his career, following his previous role as Vice President of Sales – National Accounts at Carbone. His wealth of experience in the food industry is expected to bring innovative marketing strategies to the brand as it prepares for further expansion.
Carbone Fine Food’s CEO, Eric Skae, expressed profound confidence in Wendling's capabilities, highlighting his instrumental role in the company's meteoric rise in the market. “Chris has been pivotal in our remarkable growth, demonstrating a keen understanding of retail account needs, which has significantly contributed to establishing our national presence,” Skae stated. He further emphasized Wendling’s ability to merge sales management expertise with a creative marketing perspective, making him an ideal candidate to drive the brand's marketing initiatives.
Wendling's experience spans across numerous reputable brands, including Kashi, Kellogg's, Starbucks, and Plum Organics, where he held various key roles focused on sales and customer relations. He joined Carbone Fine Food in 2021, the same year the brand launched its offerings, as the Sales Manager for Natural Key Accounts.
“I am excited to head up Carbone's marketing efforts during such a pivotal time,” Wendling shared. “Carbone represents a unique blend of authenticity and creativity, allowing us to engage our consumers beyond just a product; it’s a lifestyle. This opens up numerous exciting marketing possibilities, and I am eager to dive into this new adventure.”
Founded by celebrated chefs Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi, Carbone Fine Food aims to reinterpret traditional Italian-American recipes to resonate with today’s food enthusiasts. The sauces are created with high-quality ingredients, including imported tomatoes sourced from the volcanic soil beneath Mount Vesuvius, ensuring peak freshness and flavor.
Since its inception, Carbone has rapidly ascended to become the sixth most popular brand in US grocery pasta sauce sales and holds the second position in the natural grocery segment. With the recent introduction of new flavors, such as Mediterranean Marinara and Black Truffle Alfredo, the brand continues to innovate and expand its product line.
