PERSOL's New Initiative to Assist Foreign Workers in Tokyo's Job Market

PERSOL's Significant Support for Foreign Workers in Tokyo

PERSOL Business Process Design, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has been awarded the ``TOKYO特定技能Jobマッチング支援事業``. This initiative aims to alleviate the labor shortage faced by local businesses in Tokyo by effectively connecting them with foreign skilled workers. As part of the PERSOL Group, which operates under the vision of "Working and Laughing Together," this partnership reflects a commitment to fostering a more diverse and dynamic workforce.

The project is strategically designed to leverage Japan's specified skilled worker system to benefit both local companies struggling with recruitment and foreign workers aspiring to build careers in Japan. PERSOL is not only helping companies navigate the complexities of this system but also providing essential support to foreign personnel seeking employment.

Background of the Initiative

In recent years, Japan's declining birthrate and aging population have painfully intensified labor shortages across various industries. As a response, the government has actively promoted the specified skilled worker system to facilitate the hiring of foreign talent. However, many businesses, particularly small to medium-sized enterprises, often find the process of hiring foreign workers daunting due to the necessity of understanding residency regulations, applying proper procedures, and creating appropriate corporate infrastructures. Faced with these challenges, some companies hesitate to pursue foreign talent, limiting their growth and competitiveness.

Recognizing the urgent need for support, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government initiated the `TOKYO特定技能Jobマッチング支援事業` to streamline the recruitment of foreign skilled workers while aiding local businesses.

Comprehensive Support Offered

PERSOL has accumulated valuable experience in offering employment support under government contract and aiding companies in maximizing their human resources. This new program will build on that knowledge by providing tailored assistance that aligns the needs of both employers and foreign skilled workers.

For companies, PERSOL will enhance understanding of the specified skilled worker system, support the establishment of a reception structure, and assist in defining recruitment criteria, interview questions, and fair hiring practices. Furthermore, after matching foreign personnel with employers, PERSOL will also provide guidance on nurturing and retaining these skilled workers for long-term success.

Conversely, for foreign workers residing in Japan under various visa statuses including "Study" and "Specified Skilled Worker," PERSOL will provide career counseling and job-hunting guidance that includes leveraging the specified skills system. They will also facilitate job placements and introductions to potential employers. To ensure smooth integration and retention, essential knowledge regarding Japanese working environments will be disseminated to foreign talent.

To address the anxieties companies and foreign workers face regarding the implementation of the specified skilled worker system, PERSOL will compile a collection of success stories. By sharing best practices and practical examples, the initiative aims to encourage the adoption of this system while simultaneously granting opportunities to create diverse workplaces.

Information Session Announcement

With the launch of this project, an information session will be held for companies considering hiring foreign workers. This will be beneficial for organizations, providing clarity about participation requirements detailed on the designated website.
