SeRo Systems Enhances Airport Monitoring with MLX1090
SeRo Systems, a renowned provider of air traffic monitoring and safety solutions, has recently expanded its offerings to include the MLX1090, an advanced system designed for monitoring airport movement areas. Utilizing a state-of-the-art integrated A-SMGCS (Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System) solution, the MLX1090 aims to elevate safety and operational efficiency at airports.
This upgrade is constructed to meet the stringent standards of EUROCAE ED-117A and ED-129B, facilitating ongoing surveillance and tracking to bolster situational awareness for both aircraft and ground vehicles on busy airport surfaces. The deployment of this technology is particularly timely, given the increasing pressures on airports worldwide to heighten safety and enhance operational resilience while managing infrastructure costs.
One of the standout features of MLX1090 is its integration of SeRo's GRX receiver hardware with SecureTrack software, which combines high-precision multilateration (MLAT) and ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) capabilities. This seamless integration provides a unified operational picture, allowing for real-time position tracking of both airborne and ground equipment, thus supplying air traffic controllers and airport operators with timely safety alerts and operational data.
As Markus Fuchs, the Technical Director at SeRo Systems, explains, “Our MLX1090 is a natural progression in the technology we have been honing for over a decade in airspace and ground monitoring. This scalable and cost-effective solution democratizes advanced monitoring features, making them accessible even for smaller airports.”
Currently undergoing field trials at a regional airport in Germany, the MLX1090 complements SeRo's extensive portfolio of air monitoring technologies, which includes HF spectrum monitoring and GNSS disruption detection. These systems are trusted by flight safety organizations, regulatory bodies, and aviation authorities across Europe and the United States.
SeRo Systems’ commitment to safety and quality is underscored by its ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022 certifications, highlighting their dedication to quality management and information security. With the launch of MLX1090, SeRo exemplifies its role as a leader in the aviation technology landscape, providing essential solutions that cater to the evolving needs of the industry.
