EFCOP Partners with Linough for Advanced Delivery Solutions
EFCOP, a consumer cooperative based in Fukuoka, announces its collaboration with Linough, a company renowned for its smart logistics services, to launch the 'Smart Package Delivery' system starting January 19, 2026. This initiative represents a significant step towards enhancing delivery efficiency for residents of apartment complexes within the vicinity of Fukuoka, beginning with the Shime branch, which will be the second location to implement this technology, following the successful deployment at the Jonan branch in 2025.
Addressing Delivery Challenges
As EFCOP has been offering traditional package delivery services for some time, they encountered difficulties when delivering to buildings equipped with auto-lock systems. In instances where residents were not home, the delivery personnel were unable to drop off packages, leading to increased business operational burdens due to the necessity of re-deliveries. The introduction of Linough's Smart Package Delivery service aims to tackle these issues efficiently. Utilizing a digital access system enables delivery staff to unlock communal entrances securely without requiring residents' presence, significantly streamlining the delivery process.
In total, around 130 auto-lock equipped apartment buildings in the delivery areas of both branches will be able to take advantage of this service. With the ability to deliver packages directly to residents' doorsteps, the scheme not only improves efficiency but also reassures residents about the security of their deliveries.
Environmental Considerations
Reducing the need for re-delivery also positively impacts the environment by cutting down CO₂ emissions, contributing to EFCOP's commitment to eco-friendly practices. As public interest in sustainable living rises, EFCOP positions itself at the forefront of a movement towards a greener community by innovating their delivery processes. EFCOP envisions a future that integrates safe, cutting-edge services that enhance daily life for their cooperative members, aspiring towards a sustainable and improved way of living for all.
Expansion Plans
EFCOP does not plan to halt its advancements after the Shime branch; plans are already underway to expand the Smart Package Delivery service to additional branches across Fukuoka during the 2026 fiscal year. This rollout exemplifies EFCOP’s commitment to leveraging technology for the greater good of its cooperative members and the environment.
What is Smart Package Delivery?
The Smart Package Delivery service utilizes a smart lock system known as 'Ninja Entrance,' which allows authorized delivery personnel to unlock the main entrances of auto-lock apartments digitally. This service grants access to specified areas for deliveries, thus improving convenience for both residents and delivery staff. All access logs are documented, enhancing security further, providing peace of mind to all parties involved. Moreover, the implementation of this service incurs no additional costs for property management companies, landlords, or neighborhood associations, simplifying the integration process. As of January 2026, the service has already been successfully established in over 19,000 buildings across the country, indicating a strong market presence and proven efficacy.
