Hisense Expands ConnectLife Platform to Integrate Third-Party Smart Devices Using Google Home API
Hisense Integrates Google Home APIs into ConnectLife
Hisense, a prominent leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, has made a significant announcement regarding its ConnectLife platform. As of May 23, 2025, Hisense will incorporate Google’s new Home APIs into its ConnectLife application. This exciting development is aimed at enhancing users' smart home experiences by allowing them to seamlessly integrate and manage third-party smart devices alongside their Hisense products.
This integration is expected to take place this fall, marking a notable shift in the consumer electronics landscape. With the new feature, users of the ConnectLife app will be able to effortlessly include a variety of popular smart home devices that are either Matter certified or recognized as 'Works with Google Home.’ Previously, ConnectLife users were limited to managing only Hisense’s own appliances, such as TVs, refrigerators, and air conditioners. Now, the application is set to evolve into a comprehensive smart home control hub.
Enhancing Smart Home Capabilities
The integration utilizes the extensive capabilities of Google Home APIs, giving access to over 750 million devices. This vast network includes the latest Matter devices and Google Nest products, allowing users to enjoy enhanced compatibility and intricate automation features. Imagine controlling various home devices—from smart plugs and lighting systems to doorbells and curtains—all from a single application.
Business insiders believe this move positions Hisense as a formidable player in the smart home technology market, especially following Google's recent announcements regarding home automation at the I/O 2025 conference. As a launch partner for the new Google Home APIs, Hisense aims to provide a user-friendly interface that simplifies the process of integrating different smart products.
Smooth Integration for Everyday Life
With the redesigned ConnectLife app, users will be empowered to create smarter interactions between their devices. For instance, with customizable automation, a user can set their air conditioning to adjust based on third-party air quality sensors or have smart lights provide visual notifications when the temperature in their Hisense refrigerator's VersaTemp drawer reaches the ideal level for cooling drinks.
Previously, notifications could only be provided through visual cues like smart lights, but this new integration allows for a more detailed interaction between devices within the ConnectLife app ecosystem. This functionality is particularly beneficial for users with hearing difficulties, as the smart lighting can act as a visual alert system when needed—improving accessibility in smart home environments.
Miguel Becerra, Director of Smart Home Experiences for Hisense America Region, emphasized the brand's commitment to simplifying smart living for everyone. He stated, "This integration enhances ConnectLife to create seamless experiences that make daily life more convenient and enjoyable for our consumers."
The upgraded ConnectLife app with Google Home API integration is set to be available this fall across both Android and iOS platforms, expanding the possibilities of automation and user experience.
