Hisense Achieves Landmark Recognition as TV Industry's First Customer Centricity Lighthouse Factory
In a groundbreaking announcement on February 3, 2026, Hisense, a prominent player in global consumer electronics and home appliances, revealed that its Visual Technology Factory located in Qingdao has been designated as the world's first Customer Centricity Lighthouse Factory by the World Economic Forum (WEF). This recognition positions the factory as a pioneering force within the global television industry, highlighting its commitment to enhancing customer experiences through advanced digital technologies.
The WEF's Global Lighthouse Network identifies industrial sites that leverage cutting-edge digital strategies to enhance customer value, expedite market responsiveness, and boost operational performance. Amid the evolving landscape of the competitive television market, Hisense responded to escalating consumer demands and cost pressures with a comprehensive digital overhaul. This transformation incorporates artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and immersive virtual reality technology in the realms of product research and development as well as manufacturing processes.
As a result of these advancements, the Qingdao factory has reported impressive metrics, achieving a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 84%. This reflects a significant level of customer satisfaction. Additionally, the factory successfully reduced research and development cycles by 34%, leading to an 18% decrease in material costs. New employee training time was cut down by 60%, and the time required to convert customer needs into product features dropped by 62%. Notably, the production efficiency for 85-inch televisions improved dramatically, now featuring a rapid 20-second manufacturing cycle.
Dennys Li, President of Hisense Visual Technology Co., Ltd, expressed the company's belief that intelligent manufacturing is rooted in addressing consumer needs. "By building a human-centric manufacturing system, we translate customer insights into real product value with greater speed and precision," Li stated. This customer-centric focus is a key element of Hisense’s broader strategy aimed at fostering digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing.
This latest honor for Hisense marks its third Lighthouse designation within the esteemed WEF Global Lighthouse Network. Previously, the Hisense Hitachi Huangdao factory earned the title of the world's first Sustainability Lighthouse in the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) sector, reinforcing Hisense's stature as a leader in AI-enhanced sustainable manufacturing.
The acknowledgment of the Customer Centricity Lighthouse signifies a crucial milestone in Hisense's ongoing journey toward a more human-centered digital transformation and intelligent production practices. Established in 1969, Hisense is recognized worldwide as a leader in home appliances and consumer electronics, operating across more than 160 countries. The company is particularly renowned for its high-quality multimedia products and intelligent IT solutions, currently ranking as the number one global supplier in the 100-inch and above television market as per Omdia's 2023 Q3 data.
