From November 2023, The Chain Museum's Gallery & Restaurant Butaiura proudly presents a limited-time offering of the "Iwate Shorthorn Beef 100% Double Teriyaki Burger". This delectable creation is part of the competitive "Hills Gourmet Burger Grand Prix 2025", which aims to uncover the finest gourmet burgers among Roppongi Hills, Azabudai Hills, and Toranomon Hills.

The standout feature of this burger is its patty composed entirely of high-quality Iwate Shorthorn beef. Known for its robust flavor and tenderness, this beef boasts a rich taste profile, further elevated by a unique teriyaki sauce crafted with Belgian beer. The special sauce combines the richness of the beer with the sweetness of Liège syrup, perfectly complementing the umami of the beef. The addition of chicory introduces a light bitterness that balances the overall flavor, creating a truly gourmet experience. At Gallery & Restaurant Butaiura, patrons can enjoy a selection of 15 different Belgian beers, known for their diverse brewing techniques and unique taste profiles. Chef Kakiishi, who has spent nine years working in Belgium, curates this impressive lineup. Guests are encouraged to pair their gourmet burgers with a recommended beer, such as La Chouffe. This renowned blond beer is characterized by its fine bubbles and refreshing taste, blending fresh coriander with fruity notes, and leaving a spicy aftertaste that stands up to the teriyaki flavors.

Meet Chef Kakiishi

Kakiishi Kazuyuki, the head chef at Gallery & Restaurant Butaiura, hails from Saitama Prefecture and considers himself to have a "Belgian spirit". He honed his skills for over seven years at a French restaurant in Tokyo before relocating to Belgium, where he notably served as sous-chef at the two-star restaurant L'eau vive for nine years. In 2018, he returned to Japan, taking the helm as chef at PAVILION operated by Smiles Co. After joining The Chain Museum in 2023, he has been instrumental in establishing the restaurant area at Butaiura.

About Gallery & Restaurant Butaiura

Located in the Garden Plaza A of Azabudai Hills, Gallery & Restaurant Butaiura opened its doors in November 2023. This space is designed to foster conversation and connection after viewing art pieces, offering an atmosphere for enjoying both food and drinks. Guests can share their feelings evoked by the art with those around them, whether they be joy, confusion, or curiosity.

With a cozy 26-tatami mat space, at the back lies a visible chef's kitchen, serving chilled white wine and casual appetizers alongside exquisite course meals. The gallery features works from veteran artists and those currently gaining attention in the global market, sometimes hosting performances akin to theater or dance.
