Philips Oral Healthcare Launch Event Showcases Next-Gen Electric Toothbrush Technology

Philips Oral Healthcare Launch Event: A Step into the Future of Dental Care

On September 10, 2025, Philips Japan held a significant event to unveil their latest innovations in oral healthcare. The highlight was the introduction of the new Sonicare electric toothbrush series, which promises to revolutionize daily dental routines. The special guest for the occasion was the renowned actor Shiono Eiku, who engaged the audience with stories about his oral care habits while demonstrating the impressive features of the new products.

Various models were presented, including the Sonicare 7100, 6500, 6100, 5500, and 5300 series, alongside a new compact oral irrigator, the Sonicare Compact Flosser 1000. The event was split into two parts, starting with a presentation by Lisa Yamazaki, head of personal health at Philips Japan, who discussed marketing strategies and future prospects in the oral care category. Following this, Seth Jensen, leader of the oral healthcare development team from Royal Philips Netherlands, introduced the unique sonic water flow technology that distinguishes the Sonicare brand.

A Star-Studded Presentation

Shiono Eiku took the stage in the second part of the event, sharing his experiences with oral care and the new products. He expressed his excitement about the performance of the latest electric toothbrush, particularly emphasizing how it minimizes plaque left behind while being gentle on teeth and gums. He noted, “The feeling of thorough cleaning is unparalleled, and the plaque removing capability is reported to be seven to ten times more effective than previous models.”

The event also featured a live demonstration challenge, where Eiku participated in a 10-second brushing test to showcase the new toothbrush’s impressive plaque removal ability. By comparing results between manual brushing and the new electric model, it was evident that the Sonicare toothbrush lifted significantly more glitter particles from the water's surface, solidifying its effectiveness. Eiku concluded, “This experiment confirmed that I can truly feel the results—my teeth feel cleaner than ever!”

Innovations in Technology

The event also shed light on the groundbreaking 20-year innovation within the new electric toothbrushes: the upgraded driving motor technology. During the discussions, Eiku humorously connected with the audience regarding his own 'next-gen' updates in life, sharing how he transitioned from paper to electronic scripts in his acting career. “While I appreciated the convenience of electronic scripts, I found that paper scripts help me remember my lines better, so I circled back to them,” he shared, adding a personal touch to the tech-focused event.

Overview of New Products

The showcased Sonicare models are designed to cater to various consumer needs, ensuring a personalized approach to oral care. With advancements aimed at enhancing user experience and efficiency, these new models signify a significant leap in dental technology.
