BDR Partners with PPATEC to Enhance HVAC Training Programs

Business Development Resources (BDR), a respected authority in training and coaching for the home services industry, has recently forged a new partnership with PPATEC, a technical education center associated with the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association. The initial training event was held from February 25 to 26 at PPATEC’s expansive facility, known for its advanced learning environment. This collaboration aims to empower HVAC businesses by providing tailored training sessions designed to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

The first course, titled Managing & Growing Service Profitably, was led by Jennifer Shooshanian, BDR's senior service coach. During this session, she introduced participants—composed of business owners and service managers—to effective systems that can help boost revenues. The feedback from attendees indicates that they left the session with practical tools and methodologies that are already proving beneficial in increasing service revenue.

Matt MacArthur, BDR's senior vice president of training and marketing, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He stated, "We are thrilled to initiate our live training partnership with PPATEC. Our joint efforts are focused on empowering HVAC businesses with best practices that enhance service operations, minimize unproductive time, and drive profits across the organization."

Building upon the momentum from the inaugural event, BDR has scheduled an upcoming training session at PPATEC on March 31 - April 1. This upcoming workshop, Top Gun Technician Excellence led by BDR head coach Shaun Weiss, will focus on elevating technician performance through improved communication skills with clients, shifting the emphasis from high-pressure sales techniques to informative customer education.

Attendees of this two-day workshop will learn invaluable techniques that enable them to:
  • - Minimize callbacks,
  • - Enhance first-time fix rates, and
  • - Augment opportunities for referrals and additional revenue.

Ted Harris, executive vice president of PPATEC, remarked on the significance of this collaboration, stating, "Partnering with BDR and introducing their experienced trainers in our educational offerings allows us to expand our curriculum for industry professionals. BDR’s expertise significantly adds value as we strive to enhance our training initiatives."
