Supporting Working Women with Cancer: A Seminar for Employers in Tokyo

Supporting Working Women with Cancer: An Online Seminar

As the rates of cancer among working women continue to rise, it has become increasingly crucial for companies to address how to support employees navigating the challenges of treatment alongside their professional responsibilities. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is taking proactive steps under the “Tokyo Cancer Control Promotion Plan” by organizing an online seminar focused on aiding working women diagnosed with cancer. This seminar is designed specifically for company executives, HR professionals, and industrial health staff, providing them with valuable insights into workplace strategies that promote a healthy balance between a woman’s career and her health journey.

Event Details

The seminar will take place on January 16, 2025, from 1 PM to 3 PM (with a subsequent individual consultation session from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM). It aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of how businesses can effectively support female employees facing health challenges related to cancer.

Target Audience

While the primary participants targeted are executives and HR representatives within Tokyo-based companies, the seminar is open to all interested individuals who want to contribute to this critical cause. Whether you are an industry doctor or a stakeholder in workplace wellness, your involvement is encouraged.

What to Expect

Through a blend of expert presentations and discussions, this seminar will address various perspectives regarding the utilization of workplace support systems for cancer patients. Attendees will gain insights into specific support measures that can be implemented in their organizations to create an environment fostering health and well-being for employees battling cancer.

Moreover, post-seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a free consultation session led by a social insurance labor consultant. This personalized interaction aims to address practical concerns raised by companies regarding their individual circumstances and provide tailored advice.
