Pearson Fuels Expands California Network with 400th E85 Station Opening
Pearson Fuels Reaches Significant Milestone with 400th E85 Station in California
In a notable achievement for sustainable energy in the Golden State, Pearson Fuels has announced the opening of its 400th E85 fueling station. This significant expansion reflects the company’s commitment to providing Californian drivers with cleaner and more affordable fuel alternatives, essential in today’s economic climate.
The latest E85 station opened at a GM Oil Company site located at 1640 Crenshaw Boulevard in Torrance. With rising costs impacting everything from housing to electricity, Pearson Fuels aims to offer a cost-efficient solution for motorists. Doug Vind, managing member of Pearson Fuels, stated, "As Californians continue to wrestle with higher prices for everything, we’re proud to offer a more affordable gasoline alternative across our network of 400 retail E85 stations throughout the state."
The partnership between Pearson Fuels and GM Oil is a formidable one, with over 100 collaborative locations established to ubiquitously dispense E85 throughout California. Adam Sparks, general manager of GM Oil Company, mentioned, "We will continue to add E85 at any retail site we can. Our relationship with Pearson Fuels ensures we remain competitive for our customers."
E85 is a high-octane fuel that consists of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, typically used in flex fuel vehicles (FFVs) that can adapt to different fuel types. This renewable biomass-based fuel is dispensed from pumps equipped with a yellow handle, making it easy for drivers to identify.
California’s push for stricter low-carbon fuel standards highlights the environmental benefits of E85, contributing significantly to the state's cleaner air initiatives. Vind added, "With the state’s adoption of stricter targets for its Low Carbon Fuel Standard, E85 can play a strategic role in helping California meet its clean air goals. This initiative aligns perfectly with Governor Newsom's ongoing quest to reduce gas prices while maintaining air quality standards. E85 provides a win-win solution by saving drivers money at the pump and substantially reducing greenhouse gas emissions."
The financial savings for consumers are considerable; Pearson Fuels estimates that the average FFV driver could have saved nearly $400 last year simply by choosing E85 over conventional gasoline. For those classified as super commuters, those savings could reach as high as $750, significantly impacting their overall fuel expenditures. In total, California motorists are projected to benefit from fuel cost reductions exceeding $200 million annually.
The strategic affiliation between Pearson Fuels and GM Oil exemplifies how understanding market dynamics and leveraging the advantages of E85 can sustain competitive pricing. Greg Jones, director of business development at Pearson Fuels, expressed confidence in the partnership, highlighting GM Oil’s capability to offer competitive prices while promoting the numerous benefits of E85.
As Pearson Fuels continues to expand its E85 network, the company remains focused on enhancing access to renewable energy solutions throughout California. This milestone not only marks a significant achievement for Pearson Fuels but represents a crucial step towards promoting economic viability and environmental sustainability in the fuel sector.
In summary, the opening of the 400th E85 station by Pearson Fuels signifies a critical advancement towards offering affordable and sustainable fuel options for Californian motorists, addressing the pressing economic and environmental challenges of our time.
