Promoting Local Revitalization Through Co-Creation: Partners Needed for 2026

Launching Local Revitalization Through Co-Creation

As we welcome the New Year, the General Incorporated Association for Municipal DX Promotion (GDX) located in Minato, Tokyo, expresses its warmest greetings and officially announces the start of recruitment for associate members for the upcoming fiscal year.

Building on the robust network and matching achievements we established last year with local governments, GDX aims to advance the implementation of DX solutions for regional challenges in 2026. This year will be pivotal in creating the future of regions alongside enthusiastic businesses that wish to participate in this endeavor.

Our Vision for 2026

As we reflect on the previous year, we are grateful for the tremendous support and cooperation from various local governments and member companies. Since the commencement of our full-scale operations in 2024, we have prioritized face-to-face dialogues in our matching initiatives, leading to numerous outcomes of public-private co-creation.

In 2026, we intend to expand the achievements from previous trials and single projects to create a comprehensive ecosystem that effectively realizes true societal implementation. The innovative technologies and insights from the private sector can illuminate the path toward a brighter future for our communities, and it is our commitment to serve as a bridge between passionate businesses and local governments grappling with complex regional issues, thereby robustly promoting local revitalization throughout Japan.

The Value GDX Offers (Member Benefits)

GDX provides a unique platform not only for business matching but also for comprehensive support from problem identification to budget allocation and operational establishment. Here are some key benefits for our members:

1. Reliable Municipal Network: We conduct surveys and interviews covering all 1,788 municipalities to understand their real challenges and budgetary trends. Member companies will gain access to this invaluable information, enabling them to create precise proposal opportunities.

2. Practical Matching System: Beyond system-based matching, our secretariat actively facilitates support from proposal development to proof of concept (PoC), budget allocation (leveraging subsidies or corporate hometown tax donations), and establishing operational frameworks within the community.

3. Expanding Business Opportunities via Co-Creation: Through exclusive seminars and networking events for members, we promote collaboration not just between local governments, but also among member companies, fostering consortium formations. We support team approaches to challenges that no single company can tackle alone.

Invitation for Participation

We especially welcome businesses in the following fields geared towards solving municipal challenges:
  • - Administrative DX & Work Efficiency: AI, RPA, electronic applications, security, and back-office reforms.
  • - Community Services & Living Standards: Non-written windows, telemedicine, educational DX, and monitoring services.
  • - Disaster Prevention & Infrastructure: Disaster prevention DX, smart cities, environmental monitoring, and Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
