Sky Labs Partners with American Heart Association to Advance Hypertension Research through Awards

Sky Labs Supports American Heart Association Awards

In a significant move towards enhancing hypertension research on a global scale, Sky Labs, an innovative player in the healthcare sector, has announced its support for the Established Investigator Award for Clinical Hypertension developed by the American Heart Association (AHA). This initiative was formally disclosed on March 12, 2026, and follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed last September between the two organizations.

Contribution to Advancements in Hypertension Research

Sky Labs' commitment includes a total funding of approximately $90,000 from 2026 to 2028, aimed at recognizing three distinguished researchers in the field of hypertension. This funding not only covers the annual honorariums for the designated investigators but also addresses all operational costs related to the awards program. The initiative is set to recognize those who are prominent members of the AHA's Scientific Council on Hypertension, emphasizing the importance of accredited expertise in hypertension research.

Jack Byunghwan Lee, the CEO of Sky Labs, expressed pride in the partnership, stating how the company is excited to contribute to groundbreaking outcomes in hypertension research through their support for the AHA. This collaboration aligns with Sky Labs' mission to intensify clinical research aimed at validating the effectiveness of blood pressure management solutions.

Sky Labs and its Innovative Healthcare Solutions

Founded in September 2015, Sky Labs leads in the development and operation of "CART"—the world's first medical-grade ring-type wearable blood pressure monitor. The journey of Sky Labs began with the creation of CART in 2020, which was originally designed for atrial fibrillation monitoring, utilizing cardiac signals gathered by optical sensors.

By 2023, Sky Labs expanded its innovative capabilities further by obtaining medical device approval for "CART BP pro," a ring-type monitor capable of conducting 24-hour blood pressure measurements. The accolade continued into 2024 when the device was recognized by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) under the reimbursement code 'E6547' for 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. This device is now actively utilized in hospitals and clinics throughout Korea.

In 2025, Sky Labs released a consumer-oriented version, the "CART BP," which is accessible via its official online store and various e-commerce platforms. This marks a continued effort by Sky Labs to make advanced healthcare technology available to patients dealing with chronic conditions.

Looking Towards the Future

The collective efforts toward hypertension research backed by Sky Labs will likely yield significant benefits for public health. As the partnership unfolds, there’s optimism about the potential breakthroughs in understanding and managing hypertension effectively. By contributing both funding and innovative technology, Sky Labs aims to enhance the quality and quantity of hypertension research and its clinical applications.

In conclusion, with the backing of the AHA through the Established Investigator Award, Sky Labs not only strengthens its role in fostering health innovation but also boosts the overall landscape of hypertension research—leading all stakeholders towards a healthier future.
