Special Program for the 2026 House of Representatives Election
As Japan approaches the 51st House of Representatives elections set for February 8, 2026, Dwango Co., Ltd. has announced a special live broadcast event on February 2, 2026, starting from 8:00 PM JST. This unique program is designed to allow viewers to hear directly from representatives of 11 different political parties as they present their election policies. The event, titled "Countdown to the 2026 House of Representatives Election: Political Parties Present Their Manifestos Live," will be streamed on the Nico Nico Live platform, along with the official Nico Nico News YouTube channel and X (formerly Twitter).
Format of the Program
In a departure from traditional debate formats, each political party representative will take to the stage for a focused 10-minute presentation time. This structure allows for equal opportunity among all parties to showcase their policies on the same platform, giving voters an excellent chance to compare and assess the differing political visions being proposed. The presenting parties, in the order of their appearance, will include:
- - Reiwa Shinsengumi (represented by Co-leader Akiko Oishi)
- - Democratic Party for the People (represented by Policy Research Committee Chair Makoto Hamaguchi)
- - Japanese Communist Party (represented by Deputy Policy Chair Yoshiko Kira)
- - Social Democratic Party (represented by Deputy Party Leader Issei Lasalle)
- - Sanseito (represented by Representative Munenari Kamiya)
- - Center-Right Reform Union (represented by Joint Research Chair Mitsunari Okamoto)

- - Japan Tax Reduction Party (represented by Joint Representative Ichiro Haraguchi)
- - Japan Innovation Party (represented by Public Relations Director Akihira Shinmi)
