Dahua Technology Showcases Smart City Innovations
At the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2025 held in Barcelona, Dahua Technology, a global leader in AIoT solutions focused on video, unveiled its next-generation innovations designed for smart cities. Under the theme 'Together for a Sustainable Future', Dahua showcased how its AIoT capabilities and large-scale AI models developed by Xinghan enable the creation of safer, more efficient, and sustainable urban environments worldwide.
Comprehensive Solutions for Urban Challenges
Dahua’s exhibition this year highlighted an array of comprehensive solutions targeting urban security, mobility, city governance, and ecological protection. The integration of intelligence and sustainability was at the forefront, showcasing how they can advance modern urban operations.
Leveraging Xinghan’s Large-Scale AI Models
A standout innovation presented was the large-scale AI models from Xinghan, which blend visual intelligence, multimodal data processing, and natural language understanding. These models empower urban systems to autonomously perceive, analyze, and respond to complex urban scenarios, facilitating smarter decision-making in public safety, traffic management, and environmental monitoring. This shift transforms urban operations from passive surveillance to proactive and adaptive governance.
Urban Security Solutions
Dahua’s urban security solution integrates an array of cameras, radar systems, and IoT sensors into a unified urban operations center. This enables real-time monitoring and rapid emergency responses, providing authorities with a holistic view of city operations, encompassing public safety and environmental indicators, all supported by data-driven insights for better governance and coordination.
Traffic Management Enhancements
To address traffic congestion and promote road efficiency, Dahua introduced its urban traffic management solution. This includes dynamic traffic signal control, AI-based incident detection, and advanced speed control technologies. Their flagship device, Spotter Ultra, offers monitoring across eight lanes without the need for additional poles, thereby reducing infrastructure costs while enhancing accuracy and coverage of traffic data.
Promoting Sustainable Mobility
In a bid to foster sustainable mobility, the company displayed intelligent systems for buses and fleets equipped with active safety features, blind-spot detection, and fuel consumption monitoring. These advancements comply with EU safety standards and promote cleaner, smarter public transportation.
Urban Governance Solution
Dahua also showcased its Urban Governance Solution, which connects various modules such as urban management, emergency response, and environmental monitoring into a unified network. The use of AI for text and image search combined with interaction facilitated by a large language model enables urban operators to retrieve information and coordinate actions more efficiently, enhancing response capabilities and citizen services.
Nature Protection Initiatives
Another notable product is Dahua’s Nature Protection Solution, utilizing AI, IoT, and drone-based sensors for wildfire prevention and biodiversity protection. By integrating thermal imaging and intelligent analysis, it allows for early detection and precise control during emergencies, thus contributing to sustainable ecological management.
During a panel discussion on GovTech and next-gen AI, John Li, Dahua’s General Manager of Government Business, emphasized, "As cities digitize, the goal should be to provide better services to citizens. At Dahua, we design every solution with empathy, focusing on the real needs of the people, not just technical specifications." Max Huang, Project Director for Government Business, added, "With Xinghan’s large-scale AI models, urban operators can better understand their cities and make them truly safer, more efficient, and sustainable."
Future Endeavors
Looking ahead, Dahua is committed to collaborating with global partners to drive digital transformation, aiming to build smarter, safer, and more livable cities.
