FARE Launches Empowering PSA Featuring Joshua Jackson for Food Allergy Awareness

FARE's New Public Service Announcement

On May 7, 2026, Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) released a compelling new public service announcement (PSA) titled "Empower Yourself, Empower Each Other." The campaign features renowned actor Joshua Jackson, a food allergy patient and dedicated volunteer ambassador for FARE.

This PSA marks a significant step in FARE’s ongoing initiative in collaboration with leading pharmaceutical companies, Genentech and Novartis, aimed at heightening awareness regarding food allergies and their management. Jackson’s heartfelt message is directed at the over 33 million Americans living with food allergies, encouraging them to stay informed about advancements in treatments and to discuss management strategies with their allergists.

Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, CEO of FARE, emphasized that this PSA is part of building a robust movement to redefine how food allergies are perceived in public health discussions. She stated, "Impact begins with awareness but that isn't the finish line. Real empowerment begins when you have the confidence and knowledge to ask important questions, explore your options, and seek an allergist’s expertise. Knowledge is power, and knowing your options turns that power into action, helping you live better."

FARE’s mission goes beyond simply raising awareness; it seeks to establish food allergies as a serious public health issue, underpinning the need for effective education and advocacy. The campaign’s goal is clear: to empower individuals affected by food allergies to navigate their condition confidently and effectively.

The PSA, which resonates with powerful themes of solidarity and empowerment, is now accessible to the public and is set to air on broadcast platforms starting today. This initiative follows a previous PSA titled "RISE," which featured another patient, Andy Hartman, released last autumn. FARE invites everyone to view the new PSA and learn more about food allergy management strategies at their official website, FoodAllergy.org.

FARE is recognized as the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering those affected by food allergies throughout their management journey. Their commitment focuses on three key pillars: research, education, and advocacy. Through these strategic initiatives, FARE strives for a future devoid of food allergies, stressing the importance of effective policies, innovative prevention strategies, and community awareness.

The organization encourages everyone to engage in conversations about food allergies, emphasizing that knowledge and dialogue are critical components in navigating the challenges associated with this condition. The insights gained from consulting allergists can be pivotal in identifying the best possible pathways for managing food allergies effectively.

As we move forward, the message from FARE and its campaign is clear: Empower yourself and empower each other. By sharing knowledge and experiences, we can create a community that not only supports those with food allergies but also actively participates in advocacy for better treatment and support.
