Introduction to ecbo cloak
January 18, 2026, marks a significant milestone for ecbo Corporation, led by CEO Shinichi Kudo, as their luggage storage service, ecbo cloak, celebrates its ninth anniversary.
Reflecting on 2025
In 2025, ecbo entered a new chapter by becoming the official luggage storage and delivery service provider for the Osaka-Kansai Expo, held from April to October. This prestigious role allowed ecbo to showcase its offerings to visitors from around the world.
Considering the uptick in inbound tourism, ecbo also expanded its network of participating locations domestically, partnering with numerous accessible facilities including convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, the Shin-Marubiru building, and Keio Department Store in Shinjuku. This broadening initiative made their services increasingly available to a diverse clientele.
Furthermore, in collaboration with East Japan Railway Company's Smart Logistics division, ecbo introduced a feature in November allowing users to reserve multi-functional lockers called ‘Multi-Cube’ through the ecbo cloak platform, effectively integrating with traditional coin lockers.
Thanks to these progressive changes, ecbo cloak earned significant recognition in 2025. At the 5th Hankyu Hanshin Real Estate Co-Creation Awards held in April, ecbo shockingly took home the Grand Prize as well as the Audience Award. Additionally, in December, the service was honored with an Excellence Award at the 5th Japan Service Awards, creating numerous collaboration opportunities with other enterprises.
Current Status of ecbo cloak
Celebrating its ninth year, ecbo cloak boasts over 2,500 partner locations and has served more than 1 million users to address their luggage-related challenges effectively. Emphasizing the mission of redefining the notion of ownership, ecbo aspires to create an infrastructure where goods can freely circulate worldwide, motivated by their mission: “Freedom in Ownership.”
CEO's Reflection
Shinichi Kudo, the CEO, expressed immense gratitude to all users and partner businesses for their support. He relayed that 2025 was a year of leaps and challenges for ecbo as they served as an essential infrastructure for international visitors at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. Enhanced inbound demand catalyzed the expansion of partnerships with convenience stores, department stores, and multi-functional lockers at stations, allowing for seamless luggage storage experiences.
The accolades received by ecbo cloak serve as a powerful motivation for the team, affirming their great strides in establishing a reliable service.
“Our mission is to provide ‘Freedom in Ownership,’” Kudo emphasized. He highlighted aspirations for the upcoming decade, aiming not just to continue as a luggage storage service but to facilitate smoother goods circulation in urban and tourist settings. In doing this, ecbo seeks to create a society where moving freely is a possibility for everyone.
