Athena Technology Solutions Expands Into Europe

Athena Technology Solutions, a leading specialist in the implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) based in Fremont, California, is making a significant leap into the European market by opening its first office in Porto, Portugal. Founded in 2011, the company, which employs around 200 professionals in the United States and India, aims to enhance its global footprint and meet the growing demand for its services in Europe.

Operations and Initial Team

With an initial team of six employees, Athena is positioned to rapidly expand its workforce, with plans to increase this number to 20 within the first year of operation. Furthermore, the ambitious goal is to build a team of 100 by the end of five years. The office will serve multifaceted roles including sales, project execution, customer support, and management of European operations, focusing on delivering tailored solutions for manufacturing clients.

Senthil Ranganathan, the founder and CEO of Athena, expressed that expanding to Europe represents a logical step for the company. He stated, “Operations involving MES systems are conducted across the United States, Europe, and Asia; hence, we must establish our presence in key markets.” The resources and talents available in Porto, along with an ecosystem conducive for the tech sector, were pivotal in the selection of this location.

Service Offerings

From this new base, Athena is set to deliver an array of services encompassing MES implementation, integration, support, and related services such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Target clients likely to benefit from these services include multinational manufacturers in sectors ranging from semiconductors and electronics to medical devices and renewable energy solutions across high-tech industries.

Some of Athena's strategic partnerships include collaborations with industry leaders such as Critical Manufacturing, where they serve as a primary service partner, and Siemens through an alliance on its MES Opcenter platform. Another partnership with Twinzo enhances their capabilities as an authorized reseller.

Athena is excited to introduce its newly launched FabOrchestrator.AI™, which employs agent-oriented AI to orchestrate complex manufacturing operations, specifically targeting European manufacturers to optimize their production workflows and decision-making processes.

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition

Sachi Javli, the General Manager and Head of Global Operations, is at the helm of the European operations and is actively involved in recruiting project managers, program managers, developers, and sales professionals across Portugal and the broader European market. Javli emphasized the crucial role this team will play in achieving client goals pertaining to quality, throughput, compliance, and overall business performance.
