The general incorporated foundation, Shimazaki Furusato Miryokuka, has collaborated with B-Rise Inc. to develop a groundbreaking app called the Pocket Island Study. This tutorial app aims to simulate the experience of living, working, and studying in the Oki Islands for adults, creating an accessible gateway to island life. By utilizing 3D virtual environments, users can immerse themselves in the Oki community, resolving uncertainties and boosting their motivation to participate in the unique island study programs.

Background and Objectives

In Ama Town, key initiatives, including the Adult Island Study Program, Official Ambassador System, and Amanowa DAO, have been established to cultivate a new flow of people, especially among the youth. This strategy seeks to increase workforce diversity and facilitate community engagement among individuals living outside the area. Since its launch in 2020, the Adult Island Study Program has been operational for nearly five years, providing countless opportunities for participants. However, many potential applicants have hesitated to apply due to concerns about what life on a remote island entails.

Recognizing this challenge, the collaboration with B-Rise resulted in the development of this tutorial app. By providing a virtual space that allows potential applicants to visualize their experience, the aim is to alleviate concerns and encourage more people to take their first step towards involvement.

What is Amanowa DAO?

The Amanowa DAO consists primarily of the Official Ambassadors of Ama Town and adult island learners. It visualizes activities that enhance the community’s vibrancy and impact by leveraging blockchain technology. As of September 2025, over 300 individuals have registered as Official Ambassadors, connecting with the community in various capacities. Through this DAO, members can influence decision-making and enjoy exclusive perks based on their contributions.

Project Overview

The Adult Island Study Program supports youth learning and challenges through community engagement. Nevertheless, the unique geographic characteristics of the islands have resulted in numerous inquiries about living conditions, leading some applicants to withdraw during the application process. The new tutorial app, Pocket Island Study, is designed to enable easy simulation of life and educational opportunities on the islands. By allowing users to intuitively experience island life beforehand, the app aims to increase both comfort levels and application rates.
