Kumho Tire Partners with Georgia Veterans Service Foundation to Provide $50,000 in Tire Assistance

Kumho Tire U.S.A. has unveiled a compassionate initiative targeting veterans in Georgia, grounded in its recent partnership with the Georgia Veterans Service Foundation (GVSF). The newly launched Georgia Veterans Tire Assistance Program is designed to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by veterans and ensure they remain mobile and connected to their communities.

The program promises to provide 50 eligible veterans with certificates for a complete set of four replacement tires, culminating in donations of 200 tires valued at over $50,000. For many veterans, reliable transportation is crucial. It not only facilitates access to employment and healthcare services but also helps in attending to daily necessities. The tire assistance aims to take the worry of tire maintenance off the shoulders of those who have sacrificed much for the country.

Edmund Cho, CEO of Kumho Tire U.S.A., emphasized the company's commitment to impactful support for veterans and their families. "When we announced our partnership with the Georgia Veterans Service Foundation, our goal was to identify meaningful ways to support Georgia's veterans and their families," he stated. This initiative is a clear manifestation of that goal, showcasing the company’s dedication to enhancing the lives of those who have defended the nation.

Joe Higgins, Board Chair of the GVSF, expressed immense gratitude towards Kumho Tire for this benevolent donation, highlighting its importance in improving veterans' mobility, safety, and access to critical resources. According to Higgins, the tire certificates will significantly assist veterans, addressing issues around transportation safety that might arise from worn or damaged tires.

The eligibility criteria for participating in the Georgia Veterans Tire Assistance Program include being a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, residing in Georgia, and possessing a valid driver’s license along with proof of insurance and vehicle registration. Applicants must demonstrate financial hardship as well as ownership of the vehicle for which they are requesting tires. Additionally, they cannot have been recipients of this assistance in the past 24 months.

GVSF will manage the application process, selecting candidates and distributing tire certificates throughout the year. This systematic approach ensures that assistance reaches those who need it most.

Kumho Tire’s initiative is not merely about providing tires; it resonates with a larger vision of fostering community support and interaction. The program sets the tone for future collaborations aimed at uplifting veterans in Georgia, reinforcing how corporate entities can play pivotal roles in societal upliftment.
