World Trade Centers Association Establishes Global Headquarters
In a significant development for international trade, the World Trade Centers Association® (WTCA®) has relocated its global headquarters to One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. This move marks the organization's return to the site after a notable absence of 25 years, symbolizing a fresh chapter in its storied history. Founded in New York back in 1969, the WTCA connects over 300 World Trade Center® locations across nearly 100 nations.
A Historic Return
WTCA's decision to re-establish its headquarters at such an iconic location underscores its commitment to fostering global trade and business connectivity. Situated on the 46th floor, Suite 46C, the new office spans 2,556 square feet and is designed to serve as a vibrant hub for collaboration and innovation. With private offices, a conference room, reception, and open workspaces, the office is built to facilitate day-to-day operations while providing breathtaking views of both the Hudson River and Midtown Manhattan.
John E. Drew, the Chair of the WTCA Board of Directors, expressed the significance of this transition, stating, "Returning our global headquarters to One World Trade Center is both a meaningful homecoming and a significant milestone for WTCA and our continued growth as a global organization." This new office space not only revitalizes WTCA's historic ties to New York but also aligns with its mission of connecting businesses from around the globe.
Global Connections, Local Roots
The new headquarters is intended to be a focal point for WTCA members, enhancing the organization's ability to facilitate connections and commercial opportunities in international trade. The mission of WTCA, which emphasizes 'Connecting Businesses, Globally,' will be further advanced through this strategic location.
“New York City has been WTCA's home since our founding more than five decades ago. The new space provides a dynamic setting to unite Members and partners as we support trade, investment, and economic growth,” Drew stated.
As part of its amenity offerings, the WTCA and its guests will have access to ‘Well by Durst’, a premium space located on the 64th floor. This area features a sky lobby, café, and expansive meeting and event spaces, promoting a collaborative and creative work environment.
Strengthening Global Commerce
The strategic location at One World Trade Center also emphasizes NY's role as a central hub for business and trade. The WTCA plans to leverage its new headquarters for hosting events that connect business leaders and develop cross-border relationships, making it an ideal location for international delegations and gatherings.
Jody Durst, President of The Durst Organization, commented on the organization's relocation stating, “The World Trade Centers Association's decision to establish its global headquarters at One World Trade Center is fitting given the organization's international reach and mission.”
Looking Forward
This relocation comes 25 years after WTCA last operated from the original North Tower of the World Trade Center complex. The new office represents not just a historical return but a forward-looking vision that extends WTCA's influence and operational capacity, facilitating a global network of trade, investment, and business development.
With this headquarters move, WTCA reaffirms its dedication to helping businesses connect with new market opportunities and enhancing economic growth through international cooperation. The world will be watching as WTCA unfolds this new chapter at One World Trade Center, a fitting backdrop for its ongoing mission.
