Paessler Appoints Mav Turner as Chief Product Officer
In a strategic move to bolster its leadership in AI-driven monitoring, Paessler GmbH has named Mav Turner as the new Chief Product Officer (CPO). This announcement, made on May 6, 2026, reflects Paessler’s ongoing commitment to innovation in IT and OT monitoring solutions.
Mav Turner comes to Paessler with nearly 15 years of extensive experience in product leadership across various domains including network monitoring, network management, observability, and AI-integrated software. His most recent role was as Chief Product Officer at Kentik, and he previously held significant positions at Tricentis and SolarWinds. His background in product management, especially for the MSP sector, equips him with a keen understanding of the challenges faced by network and IT administrators.
The Necessity for Advanced Monitoring
As organizations grapple with increasingly complex IT and OT environments, the need for proactive and, in many cases, autonomous monitoring capabilities has never been greater. With a considerable shift from reactive solutions to those designed for proactive management, Paessler recognizes the heightened demand for advanced tools that not only identify issues but also aid in their resolution. This is where Mav’s leadership is expected to be instrumental.
Turner emphasizes, "Monitoring sits at the core of how IT and OT teams enable organizational functions. I am excited to be part of Paessler because PRTG already addresses critical issues effectively. It deploys quickly, monitors a diverse range of systems from data centers to industrial plants, and provides teams with visibility without unnecessary complexity. My mission is to enhance this foundation further. We will strive to simplify the product's usability, broaden coverage across various environments, and increasingly leverage AI to help teams preemptively tackle issues rather than merely respond to them."
In his CPO role, Mav will report directly to CEO Jason Teichman and will be an integral member of Paessler's senior leadership team. His responsibilities will encompass leading the global product organization while continuously striving to improve product offerings and streamline user experiences.
A Trusted Name in Monitoring
For over 25 years, Paessler's PRTG Network Monitor has been a trusted companion for IT and OT professionals, empowering them to maintain reliable infrastructure operations. Unlike other traditional monitoring solutions that necessitate cumbersome implementations and extensive configurations, PRTG provides a unique agentless architecture that allows teams to swiftly set up monitoring across IT and OT environments. This efficiency is a significant advantage, particularly in today’s fast-paced technological landscape.
With the backing of Turn/River Capital since their strategic investment in 2024, Paessler has accelerated its innovation pipeline, rolling out features such as anomaly detection and intelligent baselines that significantly lessen manual efforts for users, enabling them to concentrate on what truly matters.
"Mav's commitment to understanding customer needs is what sets him apart," said Teichman. "He is well-versed in the daily realities faced by IT and OT teams, and his expertise will be vital as we scale operations. Our goal remains clear: to simplify monitoring tasks while reducing complexity and transition more responsibilities to intelligent automation. Mav's expertise will be crucial for ushering in the next generation of monitoring solutions that not only alert users about issues but actively assist in their resolution."
As Paessler gears up for growth, plans include expanding its global team across engineering, product development, and go-to-market strategies to align more closely with customer needs and expedite the delivery of innovative solutions.
