Vuzix to Showcase Advanced Ultralite Smart Glasses at CES 2025
At the upcoming 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Vuzix Corporation, a frontrunner in the augmented reality (AR) sector, is poised to introduce its latest suite of groundbreaking technologies. From January 7 to 10, attendees will have the opportunity to discover Vuzix's advanced Ultralite reference designs and state-of-the-art waveguide solutions at Booth #19340, located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Among the highlights, the company will unveil the AI-integrated Ultralite Pro and Ultralite Audio OEM platforms, crafted in collaboration with Quanta Computer. These innovative designs greatly expand the potential for ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) partners, integrating seamless functionality for enhanced user engagement and experience.
The Ultralite Pro OEM Platform marks a significant step forward in smart glasses technology. It is powered by the Snapdragon® AR1 Gen 1 platform from Qualcomm, which allows for the integration of dual full-color Avegant LCoS projectors. This feature guarantees a rich, immersive, three-dimensional augmented reality experience. The design also considers user interactivity, outfitted with voice command capabilities, an onboard camera, and a robust microphone array to facilitate intuitive operation and real-time media capture. Additionally, its stylish, lightweight frame can accommodate prescriptions, making it an exceptional choice for hands-free productivity and entertainment.
Furthermore, the Ultralite Audio OEM Platform enhances the smart glasses experience, building upon the successful Ultralite Z100 model. With features that include dual speakers and a noise-canceling microphone, this version focuses on superior audio interaction. Coupled with AI capabilities, it supports voice assistants and offers real-time language translation. The inclusion of a monochrome microLED projector extends the battery life to an impressive two days, ensuring users can rely on this intelligent accessory for daily activities.
A pivotal part of Vuzix’s presentation will be its advanced waveguide technology. Visitors can expect to see a new waveguide that measures a mere 1.0mm in thickness, alongside additional custom designs tailored to meet the requirements of OEMs. These cutting-edge waveguides facilitate sophisticated AI applications, coming equipped with both monocular and binocular configurations and fields of view between 30 to 40 degrees. The technology incorporates Vuzix's proprietary Incognito features, designed for discreet but high-performance AR display capabilities.
Not only will Vuzix showcase these admirable designs, but the booth will also feature various display engines, from microLEDs to ultra-compact, full-color LCoS projectors. Demonstrating the practical applications of these technologies indicates how Vuzix is gearing up to encourage next-generation devices powered by AI.
