Fujiko Corporation Orders Film Lamination Machine

Fujiko Corporation, under the leadership of Chairman Morimasa Sato, has made a significant step in the production of specialized OPP film by placing an order for a film lamination machine. This new equipment is designed to create LOP plates, which are OPP sheets laminated to a thickness of 1 to 3 millimeters.

The newly developed LOP plates are expected to excel in various areas due to their remarkable features. The plates maintain high rigidity and impact resistance while offering superior toughness. These attributes, combined with a higher level of transparency compared to traditional PP sheets, make them ideal for decorative printing, enhancing their appeal in different markets. The versatility of LOP plates opens opportunities for use as substitutes in various materials such as steel plates, aluminum sheets, FRP, polycarbonate sheets, and CFRP.

Fujiko Corporation is currently working on two variations of LOP plates. The "High Rigidity Type" emphasizes strength for applications where rigidity is critical, while the "Easy Forming Type" prioritizes processability. Both types utilize polypropylene as the main material, ensuring excellent recyclability. Additionally, their capability of decorative printing eliminates the need for a separate painting process, allowing compliance with VOC regulations, thus promoting environmental sustainability.

The company aims to launch the High Rigidity Type by early 2027 and plans to install the lamination machine at their Kanabe factory located in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Following this, they are considering an additional order for lamination machines to facilitate the release of the Easy Forming Type by early 2029.

The innovative new OPP sheets developed by Fujiko Corporation have already garnered attention across a wide range of industries, including mobility, construction, building equipment, solar power, and logistics materials. As they expand into these sectors, the company is considering strategic marketing alliances with related industries to promote growth in their business ventures.
