Exciting Summer Festival at Shikino Kaori Rose Garden

The Nerima City Shikino Kaori Rose Garden, managed by Daiichi Engei Co. and its partners, is gearing up to host an enhanced summer festival on Saturday, July 19. Following last year's successful event that attracted over 1,000 visitors, this year's festival promises an array of engaging activities for families and flower lovers alike.

Event Highlights

The summer festival, which runs from 5 PM to 7:30 PM, features a variety of activities such as flower picking, where you can choose from a delightful selection of flowers as if you were fishing for goldfish. Participants can take their chosen flowers home, perfect for enjoying summer blooms.

Also planned is the inaugural Summer Night Show, which includes lively performances like hula dance and acoustic music from local bands, set against the backdrop of the beautifully illuminated rose garden. For those with appetites, kitchen trucks will be present, offering delicious food options and a special rose-flavored soft serve ice cream at the newly opened Shikino Kaori Café, available only during the festival.

Workshops and Attractions

From July 19 to August 31, the garden will host additional summer events, including the popular 'Furin Komichi,' where over 100 wind chimes create gentle sounds throughout the garden. Workshops will also take place, led by notable florists such as Momoko Nakagawa, featuring activities like creating decorative Geo-light sand and popular moss ball workshops.

Additionally, an annual rose management course will be conducted by former chief gardener Noriko Ogawa, where participants can learn the ins and outs of caring for roses in summer.
