Red Otter Coffee to Celebrate Grand Opening in Kenmore, NY
A fresh wave of cozy charm has arrived in Buffalo, New York, with the opening of Red Otter Coffee. Located at 3147A Delaware Avenue, this independent coffee shop warmly welcomed customers on June 6, 2025, and is gearing up for a grand opening celebration on July 15. The festivities will include exciting drink specials, with all regular-sized drinks offered at a 50% discount.
The café, which spans 1,200 square feet, has transformed the space previously occupied by the Painted Lady Consignment shop into a warm and inviting setting. With bar seating along the front window, two-top tables, and a cozy loveseat for relaxation, Red Otter Coffee can currently accommodate 20 guests indoors, with plans to expand as demand increases.
Victoria Mamat and Robert Nunnally, the visionary couple behind Red Otter Coffee, left their corporate jobs to create a community hub focused on exceptional coffee and connection. "We wanted to create a space where people feel seen and valued — and where a cup of coffee might just change the course of someone's day," Mamat shared. Their desire to build a gathering spot grounded in quality and community spirit led them to establish this unique venture.
When selecting a location, the couple sought a neighborhood with foot traffic but lacking local coffee options. They found Kenmore to be the perfect fit, seeing it as an opportunity to offer something distinct from larger chain coffee shops.
Red Otter Coffee features an extensive menu of specialty espresso drinks, teas, and smoothies, all meticulously crafted with ingredients sourced from the renowned Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea based in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to beverages, patrons can enjoy delicious pastries such as muffins, scones, and cheesecake bites sourced from local bakeries, further supporting the local economy.
The business was developed through Crimson Cup's 7 Steps to Success consulting program, which has been instrumental in helping launch over 300 independent coffee businesses nationwide. Nunnally expressed his gratitude for the guidance provided by Crimson Cup, stating, "The main thing we knew about opening a coffee shop was that we didn't know what we were doing. Crimson Cup gave us a framework, practical coaching, and honest expectations. It's been invaluable."
One of the crucial lessons learned was how to design the café’s layout for optimal efficiency and flow, particularly important for a shop that aims to grow. Mamat noted, "Crimson Cup helped us build something uniquely ours, but backed with real expertise. They don't sugarcoat the process; they prepare you for it. That made all the difference."
Red Otter Coffee now joins a vibrant community of independent food and beverage businesses along Delaware Avenue, including Fattey Beer, Macy's Place Pizza, and Nowhere Lounge.
Head over to Red Otter Coffee on July 15 for the grand opening and take advantage of 50% off regular drinks while welcoming Kenmore’s newest coffee shop to the neighborhood. To find out more about the café, visit
