Exploring Healthcare Careers: A Hands-On Experience for Students



On April 29 and 30, 2026, the Ohio Expo Center will transform into a vibrant hub for high school students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. The event, organized by The Healthcare Career Collaborative of Central Ohio (HCCOCO), aims to connect more than 2000 students from 60 different high schools across the Central Ohio region to the diverse, dynamic world of healthcare professions.

Engaging and Educational Activities



This marks the third year of this popular event that focuses on enhancing the healthcare talent pipeline in Central Ohio. Students will engage in interactive, hands-on activities designed to create awareness about six essential healthcare occupations: respiratory therapist, radiological technologist, surgical technologist, medical assistant, medical lab technician, and registered nurse. These activities allow students to delve into real-life scenarios, providing an invaluable glimpse into the daily routines and responsibilities of healthcare professionals.

With over 100 healthcare professionals representing esteemed institutions such as The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Mount Carmel Health System, OhioHealth, and Nationwide Children's Hospital, students will have unique opportunities to connect with practicing healthcare workers. These professionals have crafted engaging activity stations that simulate real healthcare practices, ensuring a comprehensive and impactful learning experience.
