Honey Festa 2026: A Sweet Extravaganza
The Japan Honey Meister Association, based in Chuo, Tokyo, is excited to announce the return of the much-anticipated event,
Honey Festa 2026, to be held in Ginza from
July 24 to July 26. Just ahead of Honey Day on
August 3, this festival will showcase the diverse flavors and uses of honey, while providing attendees with the opportunity to purchase honey from various regions.
Why Honey Festa Exists
Many might think all honey tastes the same, but did you know that differences in floral sources and regions make each type of honey unique? The Japan Honey Meister Association aims to enlighten the public about these differences and deepen their interest in honey. By gathering honey from all over, we've created a platform for tasting and appreciating the delightful variety of flavors. This is how Honey Festa was born in
2013; to allow people to rediscover the deliciousness of honey, enriching their daily lives.
Highlights of Honey Festa 2026
This year marks the
11th installment of Honey Festa, which aims to promote honey appreciation through the following activities:
1. ### Taste and Purchase Unique Honey
Over
100 types of honey from
20 prefectures in Japan and
27 countries will be available for tastings and purchases. Visitors will have the chance to try various honeys before purchasing while also engaging directly with vendors, including honey producers and importers. Besides typical honey products, you will also find honey-based products such as honey wine and bee-related goods.
2. ### Educational Workshops
Participate in informative workshops that will teach you various culinary and cosmetic uses for honey (held on Saturday and Sunday only; tickets available online from June 26). Some engaging workshop topics include:
- Making goji-berry infused honey, a delicacy once enjoyed by imperial concubine Yang Guifei.
- Experiencing mint tea enhanced by honey.
- Learning about mead (honey wine) and enjoy a tasting session.
- How to create refreshing honey-based drinks for summer hydration.
3. ### Honey Tasting Contest
