Get ready for an exciting art experience as Shibuya PARCO prepares to unveil 'THEATRE,' an exhibition dedicated to celebrated artist Kiriko Arai's debut collection titled 'SOMEWHERE.' This event will take place from July 31 to August 17, 2026, at GALLERY X BY PARCO, located on the B1 floor of Shibuya PARCO.

In this exhibition, attendees will be treated to new illustrations specifically created for the collection alongside rare original artworks. Moreover, visitors can look forward to a wide array of original merchandise, including soft vinyl figures and plush toys, perfect for fans eager to take home a piece of Arai's unique world.

The title 'THEATRE' encapsulates the essence of this immersive experience, transforming the space into a stage where beloved characters like 'Okami-kun' and others come to life. Visitors are invited to navigate through the magical tales spun by these characters, providing a captivating exploration of Arai's artistic universe through both two-dimensional artworks and merchandise.

Kiriko Arai's inaugural collection, 'SOMEWHERE,' condenses a one-of-a-kind world filled with both cuteness and a hint of melancholy. The book features a plethora of illustrations created since 2017, focusing on the character 'Okami-kun.' Highlights include a narrative delving into the roots of 'Okami-kun,' intricately illustrated backgrounds showcasing visuals from past exhibitions, and various three-dimensional works. During the exhibition, there will also be signing events, where fans can have their books autographed by the artist. The signing events are scheduled for:

Kiriko Arai is a freelance illustrator residing in Tokyo. She is widely recognized for creating whimsical characters, including wolves, monsters, and ghosts that seem to exist just around the corner. Continuing to balance 'not too cute, not too scary,' she designs characters as if they have sprung from the pages of a story. Arai's illustrious career includes illustrating for Pokémon cards, various merchandise designs, and participation in notable events in Taiwan and Los Angeles.
