In early November, an innovative intelligent factory operated by Xiaomi in southeast Beijing came alive with the vibrancy and dynamism of modern manufacturing. As part of the 7th World Media Summit hosted in Beijing, a myriad of guests from 112 countries, including media representatives, research institutions, and government agencies, had the opportunity to visit this cutting-edge factory. A Comprehensive Facility

Spanning approximately 718,000 square meters, Xiaomi’s factory integrates research and development, production, sales, and customer experience specifically for NEVs. The complex is meticulously designed, housing an R&D base, six dedicated workshops for NEV production, a 2.5-kilometer test track, and a Xiaomi car factory showroom.

The factory stands out by transforming traditional car manufacturing methods into six specialized procedures tailored for NEVs. More than 700 industrial robots operate in sync, optimizing production stages and ensuring efficiency and productivity. This high level of automation enables Xiaomi to lean on pioneering quality inspection technologies driven by artificial intelligence, resulting in products that surpass human quality control in both consistency and accuracy.

Xiaomi’s intelligent factory not only leads in manufacturing efficiency but also champions sustainability. The roof is adorned with rows of solar panels, reflecting the company’s commitment to eco-friendly operations. The energy generated reduces carbon emissions, roughly equivalent to the amount absorbed by 540,000 trees over a year.
