Genesis Leads the Charge in STEAM Education Initiatives in Coastal Georgia

In a bid to empower the future generation of innovators, Genesis and the Genesis Inspiration Foundation have taken significant strides in advancing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education across coastal Georgia. On March 18, 2026, they organized a hands-on workshop at Oglethorpe Charter School, designed to immerse students in the fascinating world of STEAM through innovative learning experiences. This event was part of Genesis Gives, the corporate social responsibility initiative, which aims to support under-resourced communities.

During the workshop, students had the unique opportunity to learn about the Genesis product planning process, culminating in an engaging design challenge that pushed them to create their own vision for future mobility vehicles using upcycled materials. This combination of creativity, sustainability, and engineering encourages young minds to think innovatively while being conscious of environmental impacts. “At Genesis, we understand that STEAM education plays a critical role in shaping the minds that will drive our future,” said Brandon Ramirez, the director of corporate social responsibility at Genesis Motor America.

In addition to the hands-on workshop, the Genesis Inspiration Foundation provided substantial grants to local organizations, including $25,000 each to the Savannah Children's Theatre and Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club. This funding is aimed at expanding access to quality arts programming for young people. The Savannah Children’s Theatre, which has been a cornerstone of creative education since 2004, is dedicated to nurturing talent through live performances and artistic initiatives. With this new funding, the theatre can broaden its outreach, allowing more children from diverse backgrounds to engage in the transformative power of live arts.

“We are honored and grateful for Genesis Inspiration Foundation’s support,” stated Kelie Miley, founder and artistic director of Savannah Children’s Theatre. “Their generosity is instrumental in helping us inspire and educate the next generation of young artists.”

Similarly, the $25,000 grant awarded to the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club marks a significant investment in summer arts programming. This funding will introduce hands-on projects that range from sewing and textile design to multimedia studies. The program is designed to provide club members with the tools to express their creativity and explore new technical skills while gaining confidence in their artistic abilities. Programs like these are vital as they allow youth to discover their artistic voices while learning about potential career pathways in the arts.

Genesis Gives is not merely about monetary contributions; it embodies the company’s dedication to fostering community development and enhancing educational outcomes for children in need. Since its inception in 2022, Genesis has committed over $2 million to various initiatives that support youth sports and STEAM education.

The Genesis Inspiration Foundation, established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has a mission focused on connecting young people with the enriching experiences that the arts provide. Since its founding in 2018, it has awarded more than $13 million in grants to elevate youth arts programs throughout the country, helping to bring the transformative power of creativity to children in under-resourced communities.

As Genesis continues to strengthen its commitment to societal improvement through educational initiatives, it invites others to join in the mission of inspiring the next generation of innovators and creatives. The implications of these programs extend far beyond immediate educational benefits; they help cultivate the leaders and creators of tomorrow while enriching community culture and fostering creative exploration. With such robust support for STEAM education and the arts, Genesis and the Genesis Inspiration Foundation are not just promoting learning but are actively shaping a brighter future for coastal Georgia’s youth.
