Syncarpha Capital Launches Community Solar Initiative in Maryland
On December 19, 2025, Syncarpha Capital announced a significant milestone with the initiation of its first community solar project in Maryland, named SynerGen Panorama III, LLC. This development marks Syncarpha's entry into the area of community solar and aims to provide clean, locally-generated energy to customers of Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE).
The SynerGen Panorama III solar facility is constructed on 26 acres of what was once the Abingdon Landfill, now capped and repurposed for solar energy generation. This innovative project comprises three ground-mounted solar arrays, boasting a combined capacity of 6.414 megawatts of direct current (MWdc). The power generated by this facility will primarily benefit residential customers in BGE's service area, focusing on low-to-moderate income households. These customers will be able to access discounted solar bill credits without the need for rooftop installations or upfront investments, which historically posed barriers to solar energy adoption.
Cliff Chapman, CEO of Syncarpha Capital, expressed pride in this endeavor, highlighting how it reflects a broader vision for community solar. He stated, "This milestone reflects more than a single project coming online in Maryland. It demonstrates how community solar can be thoughtfully developed to deliver environmental progress, customer savings, and inclusive participation—all while making productive use of land that would otherwise remain dormant."
Syncarpha Capital aims to not only operate this project over the long term but also to foster more community-driven solar initiatives across the state. To facilitate customer enrollment and ongoing support, the company has partnered with Neighborhood Sun, a firm dedicated to community solar solutions. Maryland residents interested in participating in this program can learn more and sign up to receive benefits through BGE's community solar initiative.
Syncarpha Capital itself is recognized as a premier distributed generation solar and storage platform. Established in 2009, the company specializes in identifying, developing, financing, and managing solar projects throughout the United States. It emphasizes organic development in states that have strong or emerging community solar initiatives, thereby positioning itself as a key player in the clean energy transition.
As stakeholders increasingly realize the benefits of renewable energy, projects like SynerGen Panorama III represent vital steps towards creating sustainable, energy-efficient communities. By addressing the accessibility issues in solar energy consumption, Syncarpha's initiative not only supports environmental goals but also promotes economic equity among consumers.
In summary, Syncarpha Capital's launch of its community solar project in Maryland stands as a testament to the potential of renewable energy solutions in enhancing energy accessibility and contributing positively to the environment. As it paves the way for future developments in the realm of community solar, it is poised to play an integral role in shaping a cleaner energy landscape for generations to come.
