Kato Works Collaborates on the D-SciTech Program
Kato Works Co., Ltd., led by President Kuniya Kato, is excited to announce its involvement in a vital educational initiative aimed at elementary and junior high school students. On July 4, 2026, they will partner with Tokyo Denki University to present the D-SciTech Program, a hands-on workshop designed for students in the fifth grade through the third year of middle school.
Overview of the D-SciTech Program
Entering its fourth year, the D-SciTech Program has gained a reputation for inspiring young minds to delve into the fields of science and technology. The workshop focuses on experiential learning, allowing students to deepen their understanding of scientific principles through experiments and creative projects. This year, Kato Works will focus on the theme "Learning the Power of Oil and Electrical Drive Systems from Cranes." Participants will explore the mechanisms behind efficiently moving large structures through a scientific lens.
Hydraulic and electrical drive systems are critical technologies in various industrial equipment, including construction machinery. By cultivating interest in these systems, Kato Works believes that they can help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in the engineering fields.
As part of the program, students will not only learn in a classroom setting but will also engage in hands-on activities. They will have the opportunity to assemble model cars, enabling them to better understand the principles of regenerative systems, a hallmark of electrical drives. This interactive approach aims to make learning engaging and relevant.
