About Engisha B

Engisha B is comprised of talented individuals including the founder and director Ren Nakamura (30), Taka Miyatani (25), and artistic director Masayasu Omura (63). Together, they aim to create theatrical art that embodies three core elements: performance that resonates globally, the embodiment of life itself, and improvisational flair. Their mission is to 'create a landscape of life within a space that holds nothing.' With this philosophy, they craft profound and engaging performances.

About the Plays

The upcoming birthday performance of Masayasu Omura highlights three of his early short plays that he will perform alongside Nakamura and Miyatani, reflecting on the relationships and themes that define the human experience. Each play presents a unique adult fable:

Hanano Kodomo (The Flower Child)

(Starring Taka Miyatani and Masayasu Omura)
This play follows an elderly man, a perpetrator of sexual violence, and a young woman, his victim, as they traverse the line between life and death. It raises poignant questions about the meaning of eros that transcends rational understanding.

Eden no Sono (The Garden of Eden)

(Starring Ren Nakamura and Masayasu Omura)
Amidst the blinding passage of the seasons, a husband carries his wife on his back, continuing their journey together. This emotional narrative explores the uncertainties of love and the path ahead for the couple.

Outsider

(Starring Masayasu Omura, Ren Nakamura, and Taka Miyatani)
Set within the walls of a facility for individuals with disabilities, the characters Banni and Nel, along with their late friend Toshi, embark on a quest to uncover the truths left behind in Toshi's fairy tale writings. This poignant story tackles themes of friendship and the decisions we face.
