ICEYE Expands Its Satellite Constellation with New Launch
In a significant advancement for Earth observation capabilities, ICEYE, the leader in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite technology, has successfully launched five new satellites. This launch not only expands ICEYE's existing global constellation but also reinforces the company's commitment to supporting a variety of customer missions ranging from commercial applications to national programs.
On November 28, 2025, the new satellites were deployed aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-15 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Integrated by Exolaunch, each satellite has successfully established communication following the launch. The commission of these satellites illustrates ICEYE's dedication to enhancing its services and offerings in synthetic aperture radar technology.
This launch marks a strategic milestone for ICEYE, as it is strategically positioned to support various important missions, including the Greek National Space Program, the Polish Armed Forces’ MikroSAR initiative, and BAE Systems’ Azalea constellation. This deployment emphasizes ICEYE's role in bolstering national sovereignty in satellite imaging capabilities, providing crucial intelligence and situational awareness regardless of environmental conditions.
Since its inception in 2018, ICEYE has launched a total of 62 satellites, with 22 of these missions occurring just in 2025. Looking toward the future, the company has plans for continued expansion in response to increasing global demand for persistent monitoring and high-resolution imaging. Having introduced its fourth generation (Gen4) satellite in September 2025, ICEYE is revolutionizing the landscape of commercial satellite imaging. The Gen4 satellites deliver an impressive resolution of up to 16 cm and significantly enhance the coverage area to 400 kilometers, allowing for more images and improved revisit rates for clients.
Rafal Modrzewski, the CEO of ICEYE, commented on the successful launch, calling it an essential move in not only scaling the world’s most advanced commercial SAR constellation but also aiding customers in developing their satellite constellations. With global interest in space-based intelligence surging, ICEYE stands poised to assist nations in constructing sovereign satellite missions that transform high-quality imaging into usable intelligence for security and infrastructural resilience.
Additionally, the Gen4 satellites are offered as a fully sovereign capability exempt from ITAR control. This unique proposition allows countries to launch and develop their satellite systems securely and expeditiously, incorporating comprehensive training and ongoing software updates as part of the package.
ICEYE’s commitment to providing unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities allows stakeholders to detect and react to environmental changes swiftly and accurately. By leveraging the world's largest SAR satellite constellation, ICEYE ensures that users gain access to objective, near real-time data, which is invaluable across various sectors including defense, natural disaster response, and financial services.
With operations spanning continents—including Finland, Poland, Spain, the UK, Australia, Japan, the UAE, Greece, and the US—ICEYE boasts a team of over 900 employees united by the mission of transforming life on Earth through enhanced Earth observation technologies. As ICEYE continues to progress, its dedication to delivering actionable insights aligns with the broader aim of fostering community resilience and promoting sustainable development across the globe.
