Metro Riders Can Enjoy New Rewards with FutureCard for Every Tap They Make

New Rewards for Metro Riders: WMATA and FutureCard Collaborate

In a groundbreaking partnership, Future, a fintech innovator, has joined forces with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to offer exciting new rewards for Metro riders in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area. The collaboration introduces a unique rewards system that enhances the commuting experience through the FutureCard Visa® Debit Card. This initiative is an integral part of Metro’s Tap. Ride. Go. program that aims to modernize the fare payment system and makes it more accessible for all riders.

Tap. Ride. Go.: A Seamless Experience

The Tap. Ride. Go. program allows riders to use contactless payment methods like debit and credit cards, mobile wallets, and smartwatches for fare payments. This modernization aims to reduce the barriers for those new to Metro, including tourists while ensuring that the overall travel experience is smoother and less stressful. Riders can now simply tap their FutureCard at the fare gates to enter and exit without needing to worry about traditional farecards or cash payments.

Generous Cashback Offers

As part of the new system, users reaping benefits from their FutureCard will enjoy a significant 5% cashback on transit fares. Additional perks are available through a $5 bonus offered after completing ten rides within a week. This incentivizes frequent travel, encouraging more riders to utilize the Metro system.

Jean-Louis Warnholz, CEO and Co-founder of Future, expressed enthusiasm about this innovative partnership. He indicated, “We’re excited to partner with Metro to roll out the red carpet for riders and find new ways to reward Metro riders on Transit Tuesday.”
